Thanks buddy! You are the exact person I was hoping would chime in on this
Quote from: sawman on June 11, 2014, 04:18:01 PMThanks buddy! You are the exact person I was hoping would chime in on this you should go check out what Walmart has in person, my personal advice is do not get plasma, and if possible get LED instead of LCD. LED is better and uses less electricity. I love my VIZIO in the basement, it is 26" LED 1080p I bought 6 years ago, and it has never let me down.if you can get 1080p I recommend it, but I do understand budget restraints.

I will give Walmart a shot
here is some important infohttp://www.avforums.com/threads/list-of-lcd-panel-manufactures-the-panel-behind-the-brand.815307/• LG Display: TN, IPS, S-IPS, SA-IPS, H-IPS --- Samsung, LGE, Philips, Vizo, Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi, AmTRAN and Skyworthwhat this means is that LG Display makes panels for Vizio, LG, Samsung, etc, etc.
My idiot's way of buying electronics, find what's in Costco and buy the one that's on sale. Not going to be the best price ever, but most of the time pretty good and saves months of getting up to date then monitor prices from stores. And don't buy a smart TV, price isn't worth is and some brand like Samsung is extremely invasive of your privacy.
I got the 39" Vizio smart Tv. I like it very much so far, thanks again for the tip detron

For a home theatre, you can not beat plasma. Yes, they consume WAY more power than either LED or LCD, but the picture quality more then makes up for it. I have a 50" LG 50PK750, and have had it for 4 years, and still, no LED or LCD TV out today comes close to the picture quality of it (IMHO).

LED and LCD TV's have come down in price so much, you can get a cheaper 40-50" for $3-400. Vizio seems to make a good TV for the price though.
