If you're in the US and in a hurry you can get 2.5mm and 3mm from amazon.com   No-one carries 2.2 mm though which you need for 1 of the pins on a 91mm and all 3 on 84mm.  93mm only uses 3mm and 2.5 though.  However you can pretty easily put some 2.5mm in a drill and sand down to 2.2 mm.  That pin isnt a tool pin anyhow, it just holds a spring, so as long as its close you are perfectly fine there.

That's stunningly beautiful.  It is certainly one of the best sets of Green scales I've ever seen.       :salute:

Melty scaled SAKs :)

Who was the Australian guy who did a whole bunch of them years ago

I gave it a try... and came to the conclusion its easier said than done :)

Oupa

He did lots of amazing embellishments, like the melted scales. And a SAK looking like a green pickle.
Last I heard he's not into knives anymore.

I saw a pic of this 'melted' sak and I couldn't figure out what the heck is was?  As in melted plastic scales?  It seemed really weird I didn't get it.

See pics.

You start with textured alox. Like jigging use a file or dremel to shape the waves and polish so it looks as if melted metal. Technicaly not hard to do, but you need an artistic touch to make it look good. The man had endless ideas and inspiration. :)

That was the chap, thanks.  He did some cool stuff with copper as well.

I did have a go way back but it turned out looking like a really badly beaten up SAK rather than a piece of art  :-[  I keep scrap scales so perhaps one year I'll have another go :)
