It's all 84mm donors on this one.And I am planning to do an 84mm Golfer Here it is...I overdid it on the pin that the springs rotate on...so there's a little tightness on the openers layer, mainy the can opener. Hoping after a bunch of open/closing and after oil gets in there it'll be a bit better. Otherwise everything is working. I like the size and wanna try it as EDC instead of Sheila for a while. Though I've been using the pen a lot over the last week...so might miss that. Also might polish wheel the tools...maybe not... not sure yet.
Yaknow I think I might be wrong about the sticking can opener...now the awl is behaving as normal (after a lot of open/closing).The can opener spins fine, but if closed gently doesn't snap all the way down. It can easily be opened from this position. If I push it all the way down/closed, then it becomes hard to open.So maybe it's binding on the liners...?

Could also mean the backspring itself is the problem...Did you use stock 2.2mm pins or had to use a larger diameter pin and bring it down to 2.2mm?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is mine and it is modded does that count as my SAK mod?Anyhow it is a Cybertool / Swisschamp hybrid. Think Cybertool with the mag glass and phillips layer added. Got it for Sir Mike in a lot.(Image removed from quote.)

Junior/Special Mechanic for the Minimal SAK challenge next month:I built one of these a while ago, and found I didn't use it (I don't like the combo tool) so took it apart. But I'd like the option of pliers for the 2-layer max challenge, so here's another.

Tools worked out fine snappin and poppin. But when it was assembled using pins that where reduced in size, I had similar problems. Can't exactly pinpoint the cause then, either it was the center pins being over peened or the pins where reduced slightly smaller than 2.2mm..Your pins should be alright then. Maybe its just some material stuck between backspring and liner.. Just taking a wild guess here...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yesterday I received a modded Yeoman that I won in an online auction. Unfortunately, the action on almost all of the tools was sluggish and no amount of oil could fix it. The springs seemed weak and I suspected the possibility of a bent pin. I took matters into my own hands and rebuilt the whole thing using parts from a beat up Explorer. Here's the result:Everything works great now. This was my first 91mm build and peening job, but I'm happy I bit the bullet and went for it.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I couldn't have done it without the knowledge gained from this forum.Quote from: jaya_man on September 20, 2016, 02:17:10 PMQuote from: Psych on September 20, 2016, 09:58:24 AMYesterday I received a modded Yeoman that I won in an online auction. Sometimes I've gotten explorers where the snap on the screwdriver/mag glass layer is nonexistent (that was the case with the explorer I took apart to make this). Not sure what improved it.
