galaxy 5 active

Any one got anything good or bad to say about the galaxy 5 active.

it looks huge but its somewhat water and drop Prof.

I am pretty sure I am going to get one.

I really hate this Nokia I'm definitely glad to be switching to something different. :)

I can tell you the Samsung Galaxy phones are great but I had to switch providers and wound up with an iPhone 5s which I happen to like even more so. My wife doesn't care for her iPhone however...

My wife had an S3 and an S4, and loved them both.  I have never been a fan of Samsung phones though, as they seem to feel cheaply made.  They're not, but they feel it.

iPhones are great though.  My wife has had a 4s, 5, and now a 5s, and I had a 5 and loved it.  I only traded it for a Nokia Lumia 1020 as I really wanted the best camera phone out there right now.

It's probably a phone that you would enjoy using though.

My contract expires next month and I will get a S5. Happy with my S2 so no reason to change, even after 3 years it still will run anything on the market smoothly.

First thing I'll do is root and unlock, like I did S2.

I love my Galaxy S4,  it is a great MT

I am a fan of the expandable storage through the MicroSD slot,  but my guess would be a water proof phone will not offer this.

If I can help, let me know

I am still using the Galaxy S2, and Mrs. Powernoodle uses the S2 Skyrocket, and they are both going strong.  So I am a big fan of the Galaxy lineup.  Now, these phones are thin and plasticky feeling, with a plastic shell and back, but your "active" version should be more robust.  I was not even aware that they made an active flavor.  I can't come up with an excuse to get an S5 as my S2 is still doing just fine and is an awesome phone.  All of the pics I post are made with the S2.  I was hoping the S5 would have a metal body, and I think that heart rate monitor is pretty goofy, but that phone should kick some hiney.  It is exactly what I would get if I needed a phone.

I did not know that the Active had a metal back.  That's cool.  The sorta flimsy feel of the standard plastic S5 is its only real downside.  When I first got my S2, is seemed gigantic and I sorta regretted it.  But once you get used to carrying it, you totally forget about the size.  I carry mine in a Maxpedition belt holster that I modded to make it a drop-in style holster with no upper flap.  Now I want an S5 Active!

It is a big phone but not much bigger than the Nokia I'm using now

I'm having a hard time finding cases that fit it.

there's a few but no otter boxes.

I still got to look on evil bay yet

I played with the regular S5 today in store, it's pretty big, borderlining impractical as far as phone goes. Not sure if we have active version up here, I'll take a look when I switch.

I don't mind plastic as long as they make it not slippery, I've dropped my S2 a few times because it's like bar of wet soap when hands are sweaty.

it should be here Monday.

That big screen comes in handy for watching youtube videos, Teletubbies, etc.  I bought an S3 mini a while back, but returned it because the screen was too small.  It was a good carry size, but just hard to see.  Having that big 5.1" screen on the S2 (maybe bigger on the S5) really rocks when you are on a website, sending emails, watching videos, etc.

I'm not worried about its size.

I'm just gonna have to be careful with it. I took out my screen in this Nokia twice. I wasn't used to the big screen.

Me and the misses picked up the s4's a short time ago as our first smartphones.   They work great but for us they took a little getting use to.  The phones are pretty big, like a small tablet! :)  My wife said she will never go back to dumb phones!  She is a true nerd now with her phone and tablet....always on one of them!  LOL.

I was a Blackberry addict for many years.  Totally addicted.  But Blackberry failed to keep up with technological advancements, and I finally jumped ship to Samsung a few years ago.  I could hear angel singing when I started playing with my new S2.  It was like jumping 30 years into the future compared to the Blackberry.

I had a friend years ago who was absolute nuts about the Blackberry. I thought they were pretty cool but didn't get my first touch screen phone until a couple years ago. It was pretty cool but had a short battery span and very low memory. I'm so amazed at the technology today!
