Will someone please explain the difference to me between a Vic Farmer and a Vic Huntsman. I have a Huntsman, (thank you LynnLefey) but I feel like I need a Farmer. Are there any major differences I should be ware of? Thanks in advance to all, I'm clueless here but I like the look of each and wondered if one would serve me better than the other.
Regards,
Stew...

No scissors or backside tools on the Farmer, and the Farmer is Alox, so no T&T. The Farmer is also 2mm longer, 93mm vs 91mm. To paraphrase Mike LOTS, you need a Farmer, Stew.
Everyone needs a Farmer!
Seriously, they're both great knives. I love the awl on the 93mms, and the tools seem a bit beefier to me. I could be wrong on that though.

Very much a matter of personal taste - Tool set is the same except for what/how is indicated below!!
Farmer: 93mm; Alox handles; Thinner (3 layers); Tools a bit bigger; Different (better) awl; A bit tougher - due to size and alox
Huntsman: 91mm; Plastic (cellidor) handles; (4 layers); Extra tools: scissors, corkscrew, small blade and tp+tw
Very good discussion on this (intimately related) topic here:

You're correct on that.
In summary, the Farmer is a bit more rugged while the Huntsman is a bit more versatile.

Yep you need a Farmer alright
The tools are a fair bit thicker and more robust than the 91mm's are. Plus you get that awl which is practically a pocket makita drill!

Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Farmer has beefier blade, and backspring too! What I also like most about Farmer is the Awl, which is really good in what's intended and double as a good ferro rod scrapper.

The Farmer is arguably tougher, but lacks scissors, and the instant recognition of the red scales.
Do you NEED a Farmer? Well,it's almost a rule around here that you have at least one
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Thanks all for the input. You said I needed a Farmer and Sawman has made it his mission to see that that happens. Thanks also to Sawman.
