I was sooooo close to that yet Tony wouldn't let me have any :(
(that's NOT the reason I let sundays breakfast burn BTW  ::) )

Or not so good for some maybe.

And Gareth too but apparently shoots the "wrong way" around. :P We have weirdly high percentage of southpaws here on MTO, actually. We did a poll some time ago. :D

It was a good giggle as always. Good to see the lads again, and good to meet smashie too

The weather was a little inclement at times, but that didn't dampen our spirits, we'd just retreat into the "clubhouse" to continue the merriment. We risked sending TD to the chippy, armed with Kirky for back up ... this was a bit of a gamble considering the "detour" they'd made on the way to the meet  I ate quite well for the rest of the meet, Saturday was egg waffles followed by venison sausages for breakfast, mussels in white wine sauce for lunch, and pesto filled ravioli with pancetta and fresh veggies (with some very nice cheese crumbled on top - cheers mate  :tu:) for dinner ... and I got a few "looks" from those who'd just brought tins of beans and such  >:D :D :D

Gareth couldn't get his own axes to stick in the target :neener: but I did :P However, he got his own back by pipping me in the shooting competition - the four prize winners were Gareth, me, Cupboard and Kirky ... all with Tofty's rifle which must have been tough for him  >:D I'll post up a picky of the prize when I finally get round to unpacking everything  ::) Other items thrown at the log included a CS Trailhawk, SOG hawk of some description (ask kirky), small axe purloined from Tony's infamous bucket, and a bowie bushman on a long stick. I'd have liked to have tried the ninja throwing pegs too, but they were holding Tofty's tent down

I managed to trade my imensely frustrating Squirt P4 for Tom's Gerber Dime - a most satisfying trade for both of us, as we were both convinced the tool we had received was several times better than the one we had parted with  :D I also managed to part with a LED lenser headlamp, and received a rusty billhook, footprints wrench, and a nice heavy frying pan :D I also did a bit of a stove swap, but can't really give details as I don't know the names of either of them  :D :D :D

I did briefly decide to try out the Zebralight SC30 as a headlamp, but found I could only get the light to point where I wanted to if I wore the headband under my nose, much to Cupboards amusement  ::) I quickly reverted back to the Silva Ninox to avoid annoying my friends there with incessant profanities and childish tantrums  :P

The first night my tent (Outwell Arizona) leaked quite badly, so I broke out the little ye olde Vango Delta 200 for the second night, although I did have a pop-up tent stashed beneath the car ready to deploy if I (or anyone else) had a tent crisis during the night. It wasn't needed though, and everyone else fared quite well with their tents .... well, apart from Tofty whose porch tent pole disintegrated on deployment, but we got round that one  :tu: Not that we spent much time in the tents after stopping up drinking and talking gibberish till the early hours.

Tony had the decency to injure himself in advance of turning up, so save any of us any inconvenience, I had a wee flare up of meths vapours, and the fire decided to torment kirky for a couple of minutes, but there were no actual injuries that I know of (or remember).

TD was gracious enough to watch on as Sparky's breakfast caught fire, and me and Good Sir Kirk did the same while Tom's potatoes (not a euphamism) nearly did the same thing. I told him I had some welding gauntlets in the boot of the car with which he might rescue his dinner and he went darting across the field, whilst me and kirky graciously watched on unperturbed.

All in all a damn good weekend, and I look forward to the next one  :tu:

EDIT: Yikes! There's been a heck of a lot of posts whilst I've been tying that up  :o Where's the piccy of kirky boy with his prize ... :pok:  :D

Needless to say, we NEED more pictures...

Very true.  You can blame my dad for teaching me to shoot 'off handed'. ::)  Frankly if I put a rifle up to my left shoulder it  feels utterly unnatural, however I do hold a pistol in my left hand.  I also play two handed bat games (cricket, baseball etc) as a righty, but play one handed racquet game as a lefty.  Yes, I am a little confused too.
