Cadet vs compact
on: July 02, 2014, 03:20:08 PM
The past couple of weeks I have been carrying a cadet in the pocket. Then today I switched up and I am carrying a compact. It feels like I'm carrying a brick in my pocket.
I didn't think there would be that much difference.
The cadet just disappears in the pocket.

I don't own a compact but I have a good idea as to the size difference there. I don't feel a Climber is too much to carry in my pocket and on occasion have even pocket carried a Swiss Champ. That was a tad on the heavy side however. Anyhow, my best advice is to send that compact to me, as I will gladly carry it  >:D

I still like the compact. But it just surprised me the difference in feeling.

Let me guess, your avatar is a picture of you taken last week. Yes, I can see how you find the size/weight so different...

Yes that would be nice.
Been on the hunt for a donor for some scissors.
But haven't found anything yet.

It is almost just about feeling, as you pointed out

Try for day or two let's say Huntsman / Ranger  :o

or perhaps the real brick :ahhh  SwissChamp >:D

... then you'll find The Compact so thin and feather-light  :D

 ;)

Typically I have a cyber 34 or an explorer. But I carry those in a skinth.
I was just shocked that it felt so different.

LOL! I have a similiar problem going from a Compact to a Tinker Plus these days.

Can't say I'm too sympathetic , as I carry a Cybertool 41 ! Personally , I'd go with the compact every time .

It is all a matter of what you are used to carrying.  When you've carried the same thing for a long time, anything else doesn't feel right.

I can easily feel the difference of a single layer in pocket, e.g. Spartan or Compact to Climber, Climber to Mountaineer, etc., so I'm not at all surprised that a Compact felt huge after carrying a Cadet.

Old Golfer should fit your requirement too smaller, thinner and lighter than Compact.

The compact's pretty under rated for the tools it packs in such a thin profile.
