On that - has anyone ordered from Meng Cutlery?  They seem to have stock of the black Pioneers and fairly keen pricing.

From Meng Cutlery to the UK, with postage (economy), costs around £27.50... if they are a reliable vendor for international purchases, that seems quite reasonable.

I have dealt w/Meng for more years than I care to remember & can truly say that their service is excellent, their prices are most reasonable, & they are very reliable. A problem once arose over one of my orders & they fixed it quickly & to my complete satisfaction.

PS: No, I'm not a relative nor do I have stock in the company.
PPS: Price as of today for black Pioneer: 32.41 CHF.

Ordered on Monday from Meng, delivered today - so 5 days to ship from Switzerland to the UK.  Well packaged, no customs fees and a reasonable price.  I think I'll order from there again.

Living in Canada must be most confusing, as they use all formats (can't even imagine how that works for software engineers)

It makes sense when you think about it. Their are only 12 months so most of the time the first number is lower in denomination than the second number and the year is always higher in denomination then both making it a increasing number denomination most of the time. Unlike the crazy European way which almost always goes from a high number to lower number then jumping up to the highest number denomination.  Now that's just insane.

Holy Cowzarooni.  I went to the mail box and the Pioneers have arrived from Switzerland!!   I was wondering if I had ordered correctly, because I didnt get any confirmation.  However,  They showed up in Mint Brand New shape to USA in 5 days!!!   Meng Cutlery gets a A+++ .

I picked up a couple these red shield/black Pioneers. They look great! Very nice Alox 

I probably paid a little more than if I had ordered them from Meng's, but I didn't pay as much as what I see them currently going for on ebay. Worth it either way.

The red shield on black Alox is  -worthy.

I finally stopped procrastinating and placed my order for three Black over Red Pioneers last Saturday. One for me and one for each of my two boys, 8 and 4 (they already have about 5 knives each on their very own collections). Anyway, I got an e-mail from Meng this morning letting me know they are back-ordered until the middle of September!!! 
Who said "All good things come to those who wait"?

I was just about to attempt to order one from Meng as well as a birthday treat, but when I search "pioneer" as I have done the past couple days with success, I get no results now.  I'm assuming this means they're out
