LM Vista anybody??
on: June 26, 2014, 09:55:38 PM
Normally I'd grab this myself, however I'm trying  to cut back on duplicates!!  :D

If its still around over the weekend, I think my resistance may quickly subside...

Why the Hybrid??
Because I like the weeding tool (with the V cutter at the end).

EEK!!, you mean you actually intend to use it  :ahhh :ahhh
Oh my' I bought a cheap weeding tool you describe off Amazon for a few £'s works great, meanwhile the 3  LM pruners (well 4 actually )  are all safe'n'snug in their boxes  >:D

I have to buy only used tools because I'd lock the new ones away never to be seen again much like you Tosh.  I do like to have a play every now and again so the used tools I collect at least can be handled in my collection.  That is a great looking pair of pruners but not really in my price range.

Sorry Tosh, but at that price I won't be removing temptation from your sight  :pok:   ;)

These days expensive duplicates have to really work at justifying themselves to me before I weaken/cave and flex the old PayPal account.  But what usually happens is I finally find an MT that I've been looking for for ages, then as soon as I buy it (for a highish price) another one pops up that is cheaper and in better condition so I "have" to buy the duplicate, don't I ?

It's definitely an illness

You know what I always think about and will never be able to forget is the Hybrid that could of been. When I was real early in my Leatherman/SAK collecting I was at a garage sale and was looking through boxes of sheaths, tools, multitools, Sak's, and whatnot and came across what I now think was a Hybrid. I took one look at it and thought, hmm... thats neat, but its definitely not a Leatherman.  :twak: I have no idea if it truly was a Hybrid or some knockoff. I don't remember seeing any Leatherman markings on it, but to be honest I didn't look very hard. The one thing I do remember about the tool was it was green and it had the (weed remover?) tool on it. Someone please tell me there was no green tool with the (weed remover?) tool in it so I can finally put it behind me.  :poh:

rest easy, captain. :salute: the only color I've ever seen a Hybrid in is the yellow/black combo, and that includes multiple trips to the factory store and even the few on-site warehouse sales that they held years ago (coincidentally, when the Hybrid was still in production). the Hybrid was the only LM with the weed remover tool, and I'm confident that it wasn't produced in any other color schemes. :tu:

...unless, of course, it was an ultra-rare limited run, like the green Juice S2 that now resides in Chako's collection... :D

Well if it was a ultra rare green version that no one has ever seen before I guess it wasn't meant to be.  ;)

Thank you for finally putting the regret to rest.  :tu:

There is an el-cheapo Pruner around (with various brands and no markings at all) that has green plastic handles and a weeding tool.  It may have been one of them.

So I have to ask.  Is the LM Vista better than Windows Vista?

Hi Greg

I couldn't have expressed it better myself.
You are so right. I too was so desperate to find certain models a few years back that I often paid a kings ransom for some models - fearing that if I missed it I would kick myself forever. But as you rightly say there always seems to be another offered later at much lower prices  and naturally that gets bought too!!

It IS an illness.

I'll leave the Vista and bide my time until I get the last few models I've been searching for.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Captain -- did the tool in question look like this? if so, I think we can safely say it's not a LM. ;)
