They have had those black Pioneers for that price for a while now so its probably no hurry, but you never know. That is the best price for a black alox Pioneer I know of at the moment.

That's how we roll around here my friend ;) >:D  That is a good price.  Almost makes me want to get one...almost.  I'm holding out for the red shield black version as my future alox purchase.

A little bird told me: As a follow up to the serial production black Pioneer there will be a serial production black Farmer. In the very near future. At least here in Germany.

The bird hasn't specified this. But I would assume it.

After all these years... my first ALOX ever arrived in the mail. A basic cadet. Never had one of these in my hands previously!

It makes a nice comparison with the Victorinox Sportsman, my minimalist challenge knife sitting here next to it. Same length, similar tools yet very different.

The Cadet scales are amazingly thin yet feel very solid. It inspires confidence and feels like it will last forever. Alox seems a very efficient way to compact a multitool.

The downside of the Cadet is that the tweezers and toothpick are missing, which I figure a lot of people see as gimmicks, but I find them useful. Also, the back of the knife is not utilised; and I particularly wonder whether it would be feasible to include the reamer on the back in the same style as the Sportsman.

Overall, I think it's a great addition and am thinking about the next alox to be acquired... :)

That makes a very tempting combination .
I only wish that they would do a short run of those Sheepsfoot blades without the scallop grind  in the blade .
I went for the Pruner on which I immediately turned the Pruner Blade into a Sheepsfoot , but the Electricians blade is much sturdier .
Either way it is great to own and experience a single layer SAK , we should start a club for just " Bladed SAK's " no tools allowed  :)
Basically what we have are old fashioned two bladed Pen Knives with a modern fit and feel .
