Working from home carry
on: August 08, 2014, 07:28:26 AM

Working from home today affords me some luxury carry items, but also allows me to carry less than I may during other office days in some regards.

1) G19,
2) 10rnd CA mag,
3) SOG PowerLock,
4) Pocket Notebook 3.5x5.5 (field notes size),
5) custom pen walnut/brass: takes cross(or Fisher for Cross) refills,
6) Zebralight h502d,
7) Kershaw Skyline with ZT0560 clip,
8) ESV Pocket Bible,
9) Keys with NiteIze 3" clippable twist gear tie used for dangler.

Here is how it is currently carried:

I just started carrying the SOG PowerLock using this method. So far, it is very comfortable and practical for my needs. Time will tell if this method will stick. I would like to design one to carry my G19 mag as well. With a lanyard sticking out from beneath the multitool, deployment is fast and one handed deployment is easier than any other carrying method I have tried yet. Really liking it so far.

Have fun.

I normally carry a loaded AKM on my back when I work from home. Also wearing the full tactical loadout, but I drop all of that when i step out for a smoke.

The idea is, the more you carry and get use to the weight and feel, the better when you are with it when you actually going use it.

I've gotta ask...

If you live in CA, which i assume you do because of the CA restricted 10-round mag...

Wouldn't a Glock 26 work better for carry? Unless you have big hands. Or is carrying concealed not a concern on days off? I'd think it'd just save time from having to switch when running to the grocery store or whatever.

Also, another thumb-us on the ranger band sheath. Can't remember who originally posted that, but I think it's a great, secure, inexpensive, and versatile solution to carry.

I understand preparedness, I even understand that you want to carry your stuff as part of your training, but why a loaded gun if your neighborhood is "one of the best"? Wouldn't basic gun safety suggest that you carry a non-loaded gun?
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Sorry I wasn't clear on that.
What I meant is all five 40rds mags are loaded, but no round loaded into chamber of rifle.

That to me is just so alien.
If my life ever came to the point where I needed to walk about EDCing all that....I would just emigrate.

Goodness gracious. Unbelievable.

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.
