My faith in humanity is restored!

Just a few short days ago I experienced a great personal disappointment. I missed an opportunity to buy 4 used Gerber MP600s for $15 - total. You can reflect on my soul crushing experience here:

But today, the MT gods have truly smiled upon me and made right what went wrong. Upon arriving at work this morning, I ran into my Supply NCO and he told me he some items to issue to me. After a couple of pre-departure briefings I made my way over to Supply to be given A BRAND NEW GERBER MP600 WITH CARBIDE CUTTERS!!! And to top it off, they laid a SOG Tac TiNi  and new pair of boots on me. Are you kidding me?!?!

The boots are Sage Green, however, in accordance with USAF uniform policies. Lol

I am still amazed at what an crazy coincidence this is.

At any rate, I am just pleased to be FINALLY entering the MP600 club. I have had a MP400 for 10 years and have been after big brother for a while.

That's one way to get into the club....   The issue MP600 is a great tool.  I use mine a lot, and my stepbrother carried one on his deployments.

So far I like my new MP600. However, I have to agree with a lot of others who make the comment that it is a little thin in the variety department. I miss my scissors and saw. I do like the file well enough. And the serrated blade is pretty awesome but that weird plain edge blade sucks. They could have left that out and put some scissors or a saw in it's place. It's too short for such a big beast of a tool. Also, Gerber could totally fit longer drivers in there.

The SOG is already gone. I was showing it to my Wife, and the first time she saw the blade shoot out, she said "ooooooh" and it was over. Lol Says it will be good for castrating piglets and calves. We will have to see, I suppose.
