Wenger Ranger 198 BTS AlpineClub (Pic Heavy)
on: August 17, 2014, 09:15:35 PM
Here's the second SAK I bought while I was on vacation, it's a Wenger Ranger (yes, I'm really into these 130mm series lately  ::)).

The box says it's a Wenger Ranger 198 BTS, anyway, I never saw one of these before and I really liked the look of it, when I got home I did some searching here and turns out there already is a topic about this SAK here ...

(silly me, thinking I found something pretty unique ... )

Turns out this "AlpineClub" sells a couple of genuine SAK's, but they also sell a lot of cr*p which they offer as being real Swiss Made ...  ::)

Oh well, I've bought one of the real SAK's they offer, and I must say that I really like it, and that's what counts, right ?

Here are the pics:

I too like the 130's and this new one of yours is really cool.

I'm also a big fan of the Vic 111's.

I only caught the "Ranger-Virus" last year, when I won one in a giveaway (once again, thank you Tim and Nikola  :salute:).

First thing that surprised me was the size of this knife, like I said back then, it just dwarfs my 111m Vic Soldier.  And since there's not really a plier based tool that I "need/want" at this time, I've turned my focus on these beauties this vacation.  So at this moment, I only own three, the one I won (Wenger Ranger 58), the new Victorinox RangerGrip 179, and now this one ... but there are still a couple more that I would like to add to that collection  ;).
