FrankenGerber Kit and Gerber maintenance tool
on: August 24, 2014, 04:51:59 AM
I did a topic not long ago on the Gerber Mp600 and it was a great tool besides it lacking tool set.

I had a few ideas of how I wanted to improve my Gerber but couldn't make up my mind on a few things like what style blade I wanted to use etc. Then it hit me. MAKE THE TOOL YOU WANT.  The tool I want is always changing so I made a tool that can change easily

So here's my FrankenGerber

I can disasemble it easily so I can swap tool / replace a broken tool or change plier head or blades to fit the job i think I'll be up to that day.

Plier heads
new style bluntnose and old style needle nose .

I went with old style Plane, partly and fully serrated blades.

Thanks for all the help Tom and Steve.

 I owe you guys

Badass yes.
hard to take apart no no no.
 Nothing forceful about it

easiest tools to take apart and put back together that I have ever messed with. Way easier than leatherman just as easy as sog maybe easier

Take apart a old Mr. Pinchy. Now that's easy...... ;)

Seriously, No washer or anything. To reassemble just put the tools in the correct order and screw it together.

I cut this wrench out of Handel of a Gerber tool. It works great.

It doesn't mare or scratch the tool

Only one Gerber tool was destroyed for this project.

There is enough parts left to build a mp600.

I plan on giving away it for my 5000 post giveaway.

A big Thanks to bmot. My tool turned out awesome because of his donor tool .  :salute:

Well done Joel, that's a great looking Gerber! I've really come to the belief that the only way to have the perfect MT is to mod it!
