It wouldn't work with stock parts as it, as the pivot hole isnt equidistant from the edges. The only benefit I can see is that it would allow some configurations where the nail nick is blocked.
I was thinking along different lines. I mocked up a 58mm SAK in CAD but enlarged to fit 91mm tools. It ended up having to be pretty wide to accommodate the bigger tools, but it would be a fun project just to see how it feels when together. I liked the idea since I could make frames ( scales and springs ) then do conversion to regular 91mm SAKs to make slimmer 58mm style ones.
