No one's mentioned the Flair yet? I'm shocked.

The image that pops into the heads of many here when the Flair is mentioned doesn't exactly fit in with high-class situations.  Well, maybe in Australia it does.....

A flashlight in the pocket is a must have for me at all times and because they are made so slim these days with decent lighting to boot, you won't even notice it no matter what you wear.

A must for me also  :tu:

Ive been carrying a Vic Spartan Lite in a cowhide sheath for weddings and funerals.

Wine Bottles can be opened, both srewdrivers in line and the light is handy.

It can't get much more posh than a Vic Spirit. A Wenger Metal-50 or a Dynasty Gawain might be good contenders.

Me, I'd take a red or green cellidor Vic Climber or my usual EDC, a Pioneer and alox Rambler.
Well except the Spirit RT, for sure the most elegant plier-based MT.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I usually take either my every day Compact or a PST, or if it is very dressy, a much older, small, bone handled Al-mar folder or a scrimsawed slippie of unknown parentage (my gentleman's knives). Sometimes something very discrete like a CRKT Mimimalist under my dress shirt.

But I've also been at weddings where as a groomsman I was told to wear sword and pistol.

For me its a Alox Bantam in a leather pocket slip I made.  Sharp little knife and great for dressy occasions, just not enough knife/tools for me on a normal day.

Just out of interest...what were you planning to tackle on a wedding with a PWII?

Good one!  ;)

I normally go for an old cross pioneer, or sometimes just a brushed metal classic, which is an overlooked model imho.

I had no particular plans for the PWII, and in fact it saw no action at the wedding.  It just rides unobtrusively in my wallet until it is needed.

The Climber, on the other hand, was used fairly extensively.  Blade to cut zip ties and ribbons, scissors to trim strings, awl to disengage zip ties, toothpick to make sure I had no food in my teeth for the pictures, and perhaps most importantly, the corkscrew and mini-screwdriver to untangle the bride's necklace before the ceremony.

All of the above, of course, made me glad I hadn't switched the Climber out for some less capable posh tool or gent's knife.

I've stolen my girlfriend's juice cs4 on a couple occasions that were too formal and slimline for my charge tti, it's fairly unobtrusive, still has pliers, Philips and a few flat head drivers for emergency handy-man work, but all the tools that would be more often needed at a formal event are externally accessed, being the small knife blade, corkscrew with lever assist, and scissors, the only tool layer I don't imagine using at a formal event would be the wood saw and the awl but even the awl has a sewing eye in it, and the handle scale is even a pretty fashionable and inoffensive blue ;)

Had my silver Cadet and Fenix E05 2014 at a wedding a couple of weeks back. The light got all the use, helping the Groom's mother see her speech (I had it out of my pocket and on quicker than anyone could get out their smart phone) and lighting the way back to our accommodation. Don't think I used the SAK at all

Last wedding I went to, I took an LM Style PS, CRKT KERT, tritium light & photon torch. Came in handy, super light weight and doesn't offend if you get frisked bar hopping later in the evening.
I think the SAK Pioneer is a great option though, and it looks sweet. The LM Squirt PS4 is nearly unbeatable for its size for urban EDC IMHO.
Eventually even McGyver got himself a Leatherman
