I saw this a while back, but do not think I ever posted it. Just goes to show you never know when you might need that knife or tool.

In this case I don't think cutting her out was a proper thing to do.

The car was just flipped and there was no fire or danger of explosion, otherwise the guys wouldn't just be standing there.

There could have been a spine/neck injury and in such cases you don't move the injured. Even the ambulance was there already. And you can see the paramedic holding her neck in place until they put the collar (don't know the proper English name for it) on her so she doesn't injure herself even more.

Car on fire or in the water, or the person heavily bleeding? Yes, cut them out promptly. Otherwise you could be doing more harm than good.

I can definitely see your point and I would tend to agree.

I can also see how one would want to get her out before a fire could start. I would hate to be the one who says no, no, just wait and boom the car explodes or immediately goes up in flames and she dies.

The point of posting this is not to pick apart the situation, but rather to say it is good to be prepared as you never know what kind of situation you might run into.

Just in case anyone is interested their is such a thing (in the USA) called the "good Samaritan law" to protect people who decide to help in situations such as these from prosecution.

"Is this thing on fire?"
"Yeah it's smoking from the other side somewhere."
