Seems that they have lot of defected products for sale on their Ebay store. Prices seem decent.

Lots of blades, and tools.

Well, they did gift us with a lot of shinies lately and I do know their support service is top notch...

Not so much for the defect lots.

Quote
Looking for a project for your Leatherman Wave, Surge, Charge or Skeletool? This lot of defects is a good place to start. For some reason or another each of these blades has failed our quality control along the path to becoming a completed blade. They may have lamination errors, warpage, bad grinds, poor etches, sloppy edges, or any manner of nit-picky issues. We're sure you'll come up with a fix. The blades shown in the photo are the blades you'll be receiving. If you really feel like you must, we will accept a return, but the return shipping is on you. Blades are sold as-is and are not under warranty. Please no questions along the lines of "I need more photographs" or "which tools will these fit" . They're clearance, they're already packed up, and we're tired of looking at them.

Never won or bought anything from them, but how they handled N_N_R's situation seems more than fair:

True. I only looked at a couple of the defect blade lots and moved on. Anything they have that I might be interested in is way out of my price range.

 :twak:

Dumb me, too sleepy. I thought you said TTX have too many defects.. sigh...

Amazing offers there. Unfortunately ebay won't let me bid from Romania. Maybe I can contact TTX directly or some kind soul might bid for me and forward the sak? (maybe they can add a "damaged" SkeleTool Damascus blade too)

There go the "decent prices"... one day later and already out of my budget (shipping here is another 16 $ so...)
Minichamp is a 20$ and Explorer at 15$.. not bad for defects.. still almost 4 days to go still... To think Syph sold his NIB one for 40$ shipped  :ahhh

If it makes you feel any better, I think that carbon damascus they use is pretty low quality.  Had a wave with their blades on it and I wasnt impressed.  Nothing like the stainless Damasteel on a Vic.

Is it 1095 Carbon?

Nope its a weird mix of steels.  5160, 203E, 52100, 15N20

Their reasoning is they want to only use USA sourced damascus, BUT, there is a USA maker of stainless steel damascus and its much better than the carbon stuff they use.  Well in my opinion anyway.  So I would use the Chad Nichols stuff if I were them.   http://www.chadnicholsdamascus.com/product-category/stainless/exotic-stainless/

Here's a chad nichols blade

Compared to theirs

I'm game...  AUS$50 incl postage.  Worth a look I guess.
Hoping that Skele blade is reasonable, I'd like that on mine.

Could even make up some Stand alone knives using the LM lock parts as a pattern.

Whatever turns up, I'm sure it will be at least 50bux worth of fun.

Hm, if someone from Europe gets a package of blades or one of the "nicer" gold saks, mind forwarding me a Damascus Skeletool blade and a Surge blade maybe even one of the "less-pretty" gold sakes? Just one blade of each, they don't have to be flawless and I'll pay a fair sum.

I don't feel like shelling out 40 $ on a ton of blades I'll never use or 16 $ in postage on a 2 $ sak reject...

Yes, when I saw it in person I was a bit shocked at the quality.  You can drag your thumb across and fee very deep groves from the etch.  Now I am pretty picky I know, but I am trying to give constructive feedback.  I would use stainless even if it made the final price a bit higher it would be worth it.   :tu:

I wish they made one for a Surge out of 1095 carbon steel.
