Victorinox Dutch Army DE-GM 9305297 w/canvas camo pouch
on: November 21, 2014, 11:11:40 PM
I came across this Dutch Army Knife Victorinox New DE-GM 9305297 w/canvas camo pouch. There isn't a Victorinox cross and shield logo on any of the handles, but there is a Dutch army insignia impression on one of the handles, and a "Victorinox Switzerland Stainless" stamping is on the base of the main blade.  My question to anyone here, is the knife a legitimate Victorinox product, or is it an assembly by an authorized licensed manufacturer, or is it a bogus knife?

Does it look like this, tool wise?

I'm no expert but that patent number and the Vic stamp tells me it's a Victorinox.

Liner lock, two hand opening blade? Opener layer? Back tool Phillips? If so its the older 111mm Dutch military issue.

One of the Dutch knives has a serrated gutting blade.

Very interesting!

Thanks CS!
That top one in the first pic was the one I was thinking of. Those era knives have that DE-GM patent number like my Forester.

The top knife looks exactly like it. So I can take it that the knife isn't a forgery.

Liner lock, two hand opening blade? Opener layer? Back tool Phillips? If so its the older 111mm Dutch military issue.
By "opener layer" I gather that there is a can opener on one side and a bottle opener on the other side.
In addition to the back tool Phillips, there is a reamer/owl tool as well? Then there isn't a Victorinox cross and shield on the handle on the opposite side of the Dutch insignia impression.

If all that's so, then the knife is an older Dutch military issue and not a forgery, right?

Yep,that's right. It's a genuine Victorinox,but it's a DAK,not a SAK.

I had a army surplus one a few years ago. It had seen lots of service, but was still good to go. Enjoy it :tu:

That number has nothing to do with it being a DAK by the way. It's a German patent number for the liner locking mechanism.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Very interesting thread I think. I appreciate the info you guys shared about these models.

Years back I had an alox one but had to sell it and now just can't ever seem to connect with one to get back into my collection. For me, the alox top the list.

All good stuff though and appreciate the pics.
