Still doing good with the classic. I feel like I'm cheating a bit though, as my classic is my most used pocket knife anyway. In the past few days it's been shopping at Sam's club and broken down boxes after, opened all my mail, trimmed some jute twine, cut out the foil seal on a jug of windshield washer fluid, and cut out the fool seal on the top od a plastic container of grated Parmesan cheese to go with the spaghetti for dinner.

Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

How is your blade holding up? Need to re sharpen yet?

I gave it a light touch up on the diamond hone I keep in my wallet.

I am finding it near impossible to prepare dinner with just a 58mm SAK. So for the kitchen, and to remain only in the kitchen, and to keep it all Victorinox, I have stooped to using a serrated edge Vic paring knife that has it's own plastic sheath. May the Swiss mountain Gods forgive me, but the little classic has it;s limitations with food stuff.

The SD tip on the file fits small Phillips screws so perfectly I thought it was a flathead until I got it out.

Looking for a Vic Tourist with a metal HILTI inlay.

Had to repair a cut in one of the fingers of my Macwet gloves. Classic scissors sorted all the necessary thread cutting without fuss. More than can be said of my sewing ! :ahhh

DAY X: I lost count of the days?

More food preparation, paper slicing... Damn that blade is tiny... tiny... tiny...
I opened a can with the scissors. Worked like a charm, but I forgot to take a picture.

I also used the scissors to cut a bubble-wrap padded envelope. Probably the hardest task I had set for my Classic. No kidding, it really was difficult for those tiny scissors.

Yes, they did. Btw if you open at the correct place you only have to cut paper. Me, I had to cut through paper, two layers of bubble wrap and another layer of paper. The main problem was, that those for layers move against each other (the bubble wrap is not glued to the paper), and that made it very tedious.

More Classic scissor action over the past few days including cutting off a few labels and some cutting of wool to do some darning. I thought I might get to use the toothpick at a restaurant last night but was mistaken. The pointy little knife blade and nail file must be getting restless ...

Nothing new. Slicing some food. The big coeur du boeuf tomato was a bit messy but not really a challenge. Classic (and the Squirt have now been in the dishwasher twice) of course the classic is unaffected by this treatment.
I have settled to the lighter method when it comes to opening bottles. Works pretty neat but leaves some scarring on the scales.

It's way easier to use the SD screw driver tip to open the bottle. Put the SD tip is inserted under the cap flanges, and gently twist the tool. This pushes the cap rim out, and  b the time you go about 1/3 of the way around the top, it comes off with a push of a thumb. Very easy, and finesse does it.  :tu:

That's what I get for posting without thinking.

Just came to me there is no need for this trick with the Rambler since it has a actually bottle opener lol.

Yeah, that's what is referred to as "car-key-method". But its only easier on the tool... takes so much more time and who has time ::)

Ok, so I took my Tropical Juice out on the last day of the game shooting season but there was not even a hint of anything for it to even think about doing. To be honest the challenge is now more about not picking up my Swisschamp or even my Climber out of sheer temptation  >:D

That's why I just use my Bic lighter most the time. Pops the top off as fast as a real opener.

I've been carrying my Minichamp for weeks now. Only last week I discovered I missed one item. Friend couldn't find his can opener. User to my Climber or Huntsman I pulled out the Minichamp. But no, no can opener!!!

Read this thread (and Jothras), you can easily open a can with the scissors or the blade ;)

I can't even remember my last update update!

Pretty busy, last few days so I cheated in the evening and used a real knife for food preparation. My baby rogue went on a second dishwasher ride, something he seems to be enjoying.
Yesterday, I used the non-SD nail-fail on some standard PH1 screws you would find on any computer. Worked out pretty well. I forgot to take pictures but will repeat that.
Today, I tried to slice some cardboard, boy that didn't go well. Until I realized that I was using the nail-file  after that it was a breeze.

I'm still hanging in there. I'm liking having my classic untangled from my keys, I am not sure I'm going to reattach it when the challenge is over.
