Very cool.

I'd pair up the es with a skeletool cx.

Nice work Breezy12  :tu:

Wouldn't mind seeing this replace the Squirt Es4 in the lineup. That long screwdriver for recessed screws, those wire strippers, scissors for parts bags, a clip to hook it somewhere and a bottle opener to celebrate a circuit well built.

For our efforts in Research and Development, how about one each of everything in the catalog for Breezy and myself?  :multi:

Don't say that I like my es4.

I edc one to work. It's amazingly handy for all the little jobs I deal with.

Here's a pic I had to take last week of my es4 doing some plumbing removing a old gasket.

thanks everyone!

I like the mouse pad! Was it a pretty direct fit?

yes, it was a direct swap. I figured it would be since the PS4 and ES4 bodies are the same, and I have put a PS4 plier head into a Style CS before. :salute: oh, and you can buy the mouse pad direct from Leatherman on their site. ;)

Hey, something good fell out of my brain. Looks awesome.

this was a really great idea; I love the way it turned out. :tu: to be honest, I've had an E4 for years, and an ES4 for awhile as well, but never thought of making the switch.

you know, before I worked on this mod, I never noticed how useful the tips of the ES4 wire stripper/plier head could be, but they would be perfect for this kind of thing. nice work, Joel.

So I've given Matt's work a workout and I have four words:  Leatherman, make this tool.

Due to the tweezers and larger screwdriver, I feel this is a better companion to a butane soldering iron for a go anywhere electronics repair kit.  There are more black boxes I can get into with this thing.  Also, since the driver tip is ground thinner, it works on tiny slot screws where the Squirt's does not.

Then there's the scissors. When open, they stick out further than the ones in the Squirt, so they just feel better in the hand, and there's no chance of the thumb pad striking the body of the tool the way it does on the Squirt (particularly if used with the left hand).

Another subjective thing is, I'm a bit afraid of tossing a Squirt in a toolbox or pocket for fear of damaging the finish.  That anodized coating just doesn't feel like it's on there very well.  I just don't get that worry when handling a Style.  The steel is harder to scratch and the plastic won't show scratches very well.

I'm going to get some good use out of this thing.

very nice mod. I work ICP so I would be tempted to get one of those. I wonder if you could replace the file with a blade?  ??? either way it goes great job.  :tu:

I just forget the file is there, I just see it as a long shank phillips driver.  A ruler on the back of the file would be a welcome addition.
