Vic Ski Classics

Nikola,

Here's the info on the Ski Classics for the wiki.

-----------------------------------

At one time Victorinox offered a series of Classics for U S ski resorts. There are twelve knives in the set, including two for Crested Butte. The resorts range from Killington in Vermont to Heavenly in California, with most being in Colorado. The set appears to date to the mid-1990s, when Victorinox was also producing a variety of other sports-related series such as baseball and football. Occasionally Classics for other ski resorts, such as the translucent red one for Keystone, also show up, but they don't appear to be part of the series.

Aspen                     #73206
Beaver Creek           #73220
Crested Butte (white) #73207
Crested Butte (black)  # ?
Heavenly                  #73208
Jackson Hole             #73209
Killington                 # 73210
Snowbird                 #73211
Snowmass               #73212
Steamboat               #73213
Telluride                  #73114
Vail                         #73219

Nice looking set of Classics Karl! Have you ever seen a "Squaw Valley" marked one?

Hi Wayne,

The only other ski resort knife I've seen is a Tinker with combined logos for for Vail/Beaver Creek/Breckinridge/Keystone.

Looks good, but needs to be moved up a half-dozen spaces on the list (its currently between 'U' and 'V').

Did a bit more research. The numbers intermesh with those for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, which give a firmer date. Dan Jacquart's book doesn't list them.
