Hello from New England
on: February 20, 2015, 11:44:54 PM
Two things happened recently -

1) While researching multitools (before I bought) I found myself directed to MTo. Here I found an amazing amount of information about them that helped me make my decision. So I joined.

2) I bought my first EDC* multitool, a used Gerber Crucial. After a weeks worth of EDC I am rather surprised I've gone for so long without one. Not lacking in tools, I never thought I really needed one. I was wrong.

So hello and I look forward to exploring all the forums. So many topics, so much info!

*I have an original Leatherman somewhere as well as a Stanley (Ganzo) that may be under a seat in one of our cars but never considered them for EDC as they use a pouch. I like the clip on the Crucial.

Welcome aboard!  A Gerber right off the bat huh?  Excellent. :)  They make many other models that are better than the Crucial.  Stick around and I'm sure we can "convince" you to try multiple ones....  >:D

Welcome to MTo, #2 is the light and truth that some have come to embrace.
Walk towards the light, come towards the light, it's great on this side.  Have you by chance found a companion for your MT?  You know a SAK  :pok:

I welcome suggestions for other models to check out, Gerber or otherwise.

I am a "knife guy" but have never been a SAK guy although I do have them.

Then I stumbled onto sakmodder.com and decided that guy is truly dangerous.....to my wallet.

.....and one more thing,

I lurked on MTo for awhile reading and felt like I fit here. So many topics relating to things I've done or am doing. Tool restoration, EDC item mods, boot sale addiction (in the US called flea markets), and so on. So I am truly looking forward to exploring these topics further here.

welcome mate
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
