Nice Wenger Wednesday beater Kirk. :tu:

Pic of my beater black Trailmaster, which I haven't carried for a while, but it's still in great shape other than cosmetically.  :)

I'm not actually carrying this one every day this month, but I just wanted to post a pic of my beater SAK which is an Original Traveller dressed in sapphire scales. Right before taking the photo I noticed it needed new scales again :D

So now it has a plain red cellidor front scale

You can try beat up a Nylon scaled SAK but apart from the logo it's still going strong.

My well used eco recruit has been carried a lot over the years, the last few years has seen it retired for other models.
I got it to save wear on my old EDC Soldier, wanted simplest tools, openers and blade.
This one saw at least 5 years EDC carry.
Chaparral keeping it company today for old time sake.

My beater, the black One Handed Trekker (Non Serrated), is back in the pocket. I tried a Leatherman Wave today and really liked the pliers, but as soon as I needed something basic, strong, grippy and effective like a bottle opener... meh. I had to use some pliers on the OHT to bend back the metal frame at the edge near the bottle opener the other week. A couple of marks show from this process, but it's as happy as ever now. If you ignore a couple of knife blade imperfections... suppose it was not really meant to help remove those vinyl tile things from the floor...

Five minute epoxy will stick the scales back together just fine, and a day later 400/800/1500 wet-and-dry, followed by simichrome (or similar), will make them look literally new.
I have a CT34 that I fixed the same way, and you need very good eyesight to spot the repair.

My father's Wenger (I don´t know if it was called Traveler back then). This is the first SAK I have memory of. He used to keep it on his nightstand drawer inside a horrible leather sheath. I found it on terrible shape sometime last year while he was using it around the office. I immediately took it form him and tidied it up. In the process I got him a NOS Traveler. When I gave it back, he thanked me and threw it to the bottom of a drawer preferring his new Traveler. He was never one for old things.

He passed away 3 months ago yesterday.  :(

Dad's Climber was too much for me today.....went with the trusty Trail Guide. Storms headed this way and my EDC stuff + flashlights lay on the table, so I shot a pic.
