But seriously, a short utility blade would be helpful on the Spirit. Something like an electrician's blade but heavier. The shorter blades are more controllable for cutting cardboard, drywall paper, carpet, heavier plastics, and the like. It would be better than having a separate Stanley knife or box cutter, and way more convenient. Hey Vic!  :pok:

I do like that idea, but in order to do that it has the replace a tool in the spirit. Which tool would you like to see replaced?
If you would replace the scissors it would be a no go in my opinion.

Agree about the scissors, maybe the small driver, there's one on the can opener.  :salute:

There are only 2 things Id change.  Needs a lanyard attachment point, and removable pocket clip.  Other than that, Im happy with the tools layout.   :salute:

Just my opinions...

SwissTool:
The best SwissTool model for me is the SwissTool X, so I'll base my "improvements" on it.
1. Make the wire cutters replaceable.
2. Find a way to have the tools lock with no play.
3. The can opener has a small flathead screwdriver. Get rid of the other small screwdriver and replace it with Leatherman-style small bit holder.
4. Keep the file how it is, but replace the finer side with a diamond file.
5. Have an end-mounted lanyard point, while keeping the corkscrew slots.
6. Have some traction on the handles.

Spirit:
For me, the best Spirit is the Spirit X. Here are my ideas...
1. Again, make the wire cutters replaceable.
2. The scissors open way too small, and the blades are short. Use normal 111mm scissors.
3. Again, the two small flathead screwdrivers are redundant. Keep the one on the can opener and use the now-empty slot for a small bit driver.
4. Keep the file how it is, but replace the finer side with a diamond file.
5. End-mounted lanyard space, but keep the corkscrew slots.
6. Add some traction to the handles.
7. Add the option for a pocket clip.

New SwissTool:
1. Base it on the Spirit X as above, but make it Juice-sized.
2. Spring-action pliers.
3. Have longer drivers than the Juice series.
4. Keep all of the tools outside accessible.
5. Include a removable pocket clip.
6. Price it around $45-$60 U.S. street price.
7. Call it the SwissTool JK (Juice Killer), just to make Leatherman mad.

Alox style waffled handles - in black. And maybe a few in colors
Once you go black you never go back
