Needless to say, I want a jetpack and a flamethrower as much as any other kid (I promise, I won't play indoors!), but then there is this:

Jetpacks might be impractical but look at this:

Granted it is not a jetpack but it is a backpack flying machine and the related technology will improve (smurfel engines...).  :gimme:

A guy near me is developing a "jet pack" (which it technically isn't): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Jetpack
It has been flown (remotely) to 5000ft.
There was an ad for test pilots recently...
