Wish I could help, but I only have an esee 3. It's enough knife for me.

I have a RAT 3 which is just fantastic.
A bloke by the username twistedthoughts has one for sale on esee forums just as a heads up.

I appreciate it.  I actually saw a ESEE 6 for sale brand new for $112 which is only $30 away from what I have set aside.  I usually set a few bucks away in my WAR chest aka desk drawer from the sale of duplicates and fleamarket finds bought for resale.  I typically wait till I have $100 then find something on sale or previously owned to buy.

Ok I'm happy to announce I have all the cash I need!  I worked a side job today and made some extra loot.  I now have to decide what color micarta scales to get as well as what color sheath.  I have a long week ahead then away for a few days then my Bday so a present is what I'll call it.

glad to hear it!!

are you going to get the ESEE 6 that you found a good deal on, or did you get enough side cash to splurge on the 5? ;) either way, I don't think you can go wrong with an ESEE fixed blade. (I own three of them...)

I have $180 now but since this thread I've looked at the 6 more and more.  Then the dag gone "best sub 4 inch survival thread" I've been keeping an eye on the BK14 again.

I think at this point the ESEE 6 is the way to go paired with a good companion blade to do the smaller stuff.  If I need to save a few more bucks then I already have a good start.

EDITED I removed the link as the item is no longer avail from that dealer.
