modding a LM squirt
on: May 22, 2015, 03:27:48 AM
I just bought a couple of those squirts with the wire stripers and I was looking at one and thinking that the knife blade looks kind of pointless (pun not intended).   So I could grind the blade into another shape if I could think of something to shape it as.   Or just replace it with another tool.  Has anyone taken one of these apart.  The pivots seam to be press fit or something so I assume they are pretty tough to get apart and back together.
So any ideas or advice?

That's easy.  Given the dedicated wire-strippers the blade should be modelled on the Victorinox Electrician.  As stock  :pok:

The rivets are peened into place, no good of removing them without damaging the scales.

Hey Metro, I'm doing a squirt mod, would I be able to use your 3d models to print myself some scales?

They are available via shapeways, I don't even know where I stored my 3d model of it.

I was looking for the ones you had on page 6 of the squirt mod but they're not on the shapeways page afaik.

I think I only have one style of them up and a combination of that style to match your tool load out. If you are looking for the hex driver one, I messed up the file and couldn't get it to work so I ditched it.

Yup, it's the red polished. I think I used the same file to do it.
