pocket clip
on: June 01, 2015, 04:56:36 AM
I have a ALOX Pioneer, how hard would it be to toss on a pocket clip? Hate trying to fish for it in my pocket, so I end up never carrying it, and use my dedicated knife or my leatherman instead.

I just learned this trick from Kampher and Grant in the last week and it has worked brilliantly on my Swiss tool Spirit and a Myierchin Marine folder. I don't see why it wouldn't work on an Alox and I intend to try it soon. Buy a Nite Ize stick on "hip clip" off the Bay for around $5.00. I don't think you can go wrong. I'm going to buy about 6 more for other tools. I'm extremely impressed with how strong it binds to the tool. Good luck and let me know how it works for you.

Loyalty,

Stew...

LOL! I will have to check out both options! I have heard of pocket danglers being fairly useful.

I am very happy with mine so far and intend to put one on my most recent Alox that my friend Sawman was kind enough to RAK me with.

What about a Tec Accesories P-7 Suspension Clip? As long as your SAK has a key ring (Pioneers do) they work great. http://www.tecaccessories.com/P-7-Suspension-Clip

NP, the only downer is over time if you get the locking one, it will start to dig into the clothing.. Just proves it works, But I'd rather ruin clothing then lose my sak :D

A very STRONG adhesive tape! You get it ready, peel back the one side, put it on and press! I put a clamp on and left it over night, it only says like 45sec but I wasn't playing. But it STICKS!

It has an adhesive that is proprietary to Nite Ize and bonds like JB Weld. It is very easy to install and I'm told is easily removed if one wishes to do so. I've not had one come loose yet. I don't think you can beat it for the price. I bought 7 of them off the Bay for around 6 bucks apiece and so far thay have been worth every penny.

+1,

I love pocket knives, I always had one, but that's all they are a pocket "knife" no extras like on a sak! So what's better then having the best of both worlds? I just never would think of putting it on a normal sak since the scales are just popped on, Grant it the clip would stay on, but the scale would fall off first.. That is till I got my first ALOX! Love them! You get all the extras of a sak, and can put the pocket clip on, only downer compared to a pocket knife is you don't get the one hand opening.. No biggie..

Maybe I'm making this up, but I thought someone made a clip that glued into the slot the tooth pick goes into.
I know there are clips for the alox models that people tap new holes in the scale to screw them onto. Stick on clip is going to be easier. I think my Homedepot even sells them.
Always on the lookout for Blue Alox

I've tried the TEC P7 clip on a Fallkniven GP and was surprised how well it worked actually, as I went in with mixed feelings on how'd it'd be. I think short of modding an alox handled model with the addition of a pocket clip, it's a good substitute.

Myself though, I don't care for a pocket clip on my pocket knife. Makes it too much like those "other knives". :)

Kampfer thats pretty cool! I found a couple spare pocket clips in my parts bin. May try and drill/tap holes and mount it. If I nix that idea ill end up getting a suspension clip or something.
