Hi, new member with a pic of the latest.

I've had 4 Leatherman tools, starting with a Supertool in 1997 which I thought I had lost but was given back a year later. Then a Supertool 300 I bought to replace it. Then my son gave me a Blast. Now I've got a new Surge. I like most of the features but the blade is too small and the file is not up to much.
I've cut down a Japanese saw blade to fit and a reciprocating saw (metal cutting) blade too. I used the Recip blade in New Zealand to mod a rifle scope mount. The Allen key and Torx bits have been used multiple times.
Great Tool. Very handy. Very heavy.
I am modding a good German made file to fit it and a chisel too.
The little Jap saw works really well. Far better than the original. Cuts a thick piece of timber quickly and very accurately. Good enough for hand cut dovetails.

The chisel is being made from a piece of a worn out thicknesser blade that a saw doctor gave me for nothing. HSS and plenty of steel. I cut it with a ultra thin angle grinder blade while it rests on a wet cloth to absorb the heat.

It's great to be able to make the tool your own and if thru testing one part isn't up to snuff then easy enough to replace it.  Good job
