Ask This Old House
on: November 12, 2007, 02:52:40 AM
This morning my local PBS station ran an episode of Ask This Old House that featured Roger Cook, the landscape guy.  They were called out to look at a tree that the owner was afraid might fall on her house.  After consultation with an arborist, it was decided to take down the tree.

Afterward, back in the studio, Roger had a couple of chunks from the tree that showed the problem areas.  Interestingly, Roger used his trusty SwissTool as a pointer to show where, under stress the tree would have been likely to split.

Perhaps Victorinox should list pointer as a feature?

That is kinda of surprising in a way :o and not in another (about Norm) All the guys seem nice on the show is the reason I think it's surprising, but another aspect is that some of the ppl from his area are high strung and can be hard to deal with ::) (not everyone miond you) I know that the few spoil it for the majority :D

Good spot Travis I think that TOH and Ask TOh are some of my most fav shows just don't get to catch it as often anymore as I would like ;)

I always take the most interest in that show when Silva is on.

In one episode, one of the guys mentioned that his Leatherman awl was a great tool to remove a stuck washer in a faucet. It must have been Rich, but it could've been Tom.

That's an amusing post about Norm. I always pictured him making the guys at the lumber yard lay out all 300 pieces of oak so that he could get the two with parallel grain. :D

Tommy is actually the nicest guy you would ever meet. We are doing the new prodgect in weston now to be aried in oct.

Norm isnt really anything in the show now, he mainly relies on the Yankee workshop now. Gee I will have to show Tommy what you look like now!!
