Help from a German speaker...
on: July 06, 2015, 11:09:49 AM
A call out to my German speaking friends. :D  I'm looking to order this knife: http://td-army-shop.de/public/catalog_xmlxslproducts.aspx?art=viewproduct&suid=12515&zid=5b52bf2f-7f44-4526-8ded-70c43e006e04&productid=121581176 or http://shop.recentr.com/detail/index/sArticle/1692 (whichever works out cheaper with postage)  but I'm having trouble navigating the language barrier, and Google Translate isn't really helping. :-\  My thought is that if someone could order it for me, having it sent to my address I would then, obviously, make sure that person is fully reimbursed.

Cheers folks.

Oh, and I'm also looking to make sure it's in yellow.  I can get a green one in the UK, but I've got my heart set on a yellow handle for some reason.

Huh, I took a look at the pages and was a little surprised at how strict they were with the age limit for that knife. (Both require you to send an e-mail proof of age, legal requirement.) Not that keen going through that, so hoping anyone who has already bought something from any of those read this thread.

Yup, what Steinar said. They're asking for a scan of your ID to be sent to them via snail mail or email. Supposedly a legal requirement but I haven't encountered that before. Maybe a new thing? German members?

I can lead you through the checkout process if you want, step by step. :salute:

They have it on ebay too, 16+7,5 euro, but same legal requirements.

No new thing - sellers must take care that the buyer has the right age for any "free to buy over 18 only" stuff. In the same way as a shop or bar owner needs to see the proof that his customers are really allowed to drink.
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

I've bought a few knives from De and never had to provide any of that.

I assume the german under/over 18 laws do not apply to foreigners.  ;)

They have to take care not to get trouble with their own laws when ordering, only.
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

So what I need is someone who is willing to hand over their ID as well?  Fantastic. ::)

Cheers for the input folks.

Only if it´s send to someone in Germany, who then sends it to you - for direct shipping to your address it shouldn´t be needed.

Have you tried emailing them?
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

OK, I seem to have had no issue with ordering the knife through the ebay store.  Cheers again chaps.
