First Day Cover recall.

Some of you may know I collect Canada First Day Covers. Well I visited my local postal outlet. We have an agreement. They place a single copy of every FDC issued by Canada into an envelop for me and I come and pick them up every few months or so. Well I visited today and there were only 2 in my envelope (I was there last a few weeks ago). The store manager looked at my envelope and said I got lucky, as they missed this one when Canada Post did a recall. They sent all the other ones back. This stamp series came out on July 3rd. Canada Post issued a recall on the 6th. I picked mine up on the 8th. I am very happy they missed this one. I guess some days I do get lucky.  :tu:

Yeah I know. Now what will determine value is the scarcity. It took Canada Post a weekend to make up their minds. Anyone who bought one Saturday is one that got away from Canada Post. I got very lucky as my local stamp shop forgot they had placed one in my envelope...as all the rest were sent back to Canada Post. It was a nice thing to happen to me.  :cheers:
