I don't buy that they couldn't make the light better.  I have keychain lights with a single LED and 2 lithium button cells that are many times brighter.  Also I hear the light in the 58mm models is brighter, so I don't see why it couldn't be at least as good as that.

I have the Voyager Lite, and actually think they have a fair balance between brightness and battery life. If you the flashlight threads, you'll often see praise for the lights that have a very low mode as one of the settings, to find your way in the dark without totally wrecking night vision. I think the Vic light falls in this zone. It's never going to be a light for checking out what just went bump in the back yard, or searching to see where your dog has run off to, but for nipping to the loo in the night or checking under a chair for that screw you just dropped, I think it's not too bad. The only thing I'd like to see changed really, is to make it less possible for the light to be accidentally turned on in your pocket

Yep, sometimes less is more.

"Better" is a poor choice of words here, unless you're referring to something other than brightness.

Because you're comparing a keychain light that uses two large coin cells (probably 2 x 3V 2016's or 2032's) to something that uses either one or two much smaller (1.5V) coin cells.

I have a nice Energizer keychain LED light that is much brighter too, and is electronically regulated to boot. But it is a stand-alone device, not a micro-component of something else. It's just not that easy, from an engineering standpoint. There are so many things to consider.

I would love to see the Cadet with scissors (and of course a Pioneer, but I think that is coming). What a great small useful EDC blade that would be for people in office environments.

Victorinox Zippo - put a Zippo lighter in a SAK

Or a limited edition model that consists of two scales riveted together without any tools.

We could call it the sad sack. Only for collectors. In coloured alox.

First post here. My ideas are not as advanced as you guys with lots of years of collecting under your belt. But here goes:

- 2 layer 93 mm model with plane blade and serrated (sheep foot) blade with various combinations of the small tools (combo, electrician, pruner, nail file, awl) and in various colours.

- Custom shop is a great idea, so I could order the above  ;).

- Multitool:
* without knife blades because they are in my above described SAK.
* with vice grip that opens 1.5".
* without any dedicated Philips or screwdrivers but with bit driver with good reach.
* sheet that holds bit kit, light and pen as well.

111mm OHT with scissors.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

More TSA-safe models. For starters, a Jetsetter with an added nail file/SD and a pull cutter opposite it.

There are some on my list - but mostly of re-releases, bring back:

- Climber Small
- Yeoman (not just a limited run for the US)
- Trailmate (not just a limited run for the US)
- Alox with scissors (hopefully in summer 2016)
- Stay Glow scales as regular replacement parts

I would have more heavy keychain tools. So similar to normal vic but shorter. There are many half way tools in normal size vics. So example blade from electrician, can opener / small screw driver, bottler opener and larger flat screw driver side by side (three layers). And attachment you can use to add / remove keys easily.

Something like cutting a 91mm in half and only use the shorter tools you mentioned? I have no idea if it would be useful to me but I would really like to see one :D

On another note, you're clearly an evil person Mr. Smaug but I partly blame my dumbness. As I started to read the first post in this thread I got really happy thinking those were models Vic was releasing this year, only noticed a few posts later that the subject was "Wish List for new Victorinox Models".

Well wish list is a wish list :) I just think SAK has failed keychain size. LM is doing fine. LM is known from pliers and SAK should be a pocket knife. I do not mind blade to be short. Actually prefer short. But thin tiny blade is just nothing. With key chain size SAK should be SAT (swiss army toy). Okay, mini swiss champ has nice tools. Buy mainly keychain size is just tiny version. And I just think there should be some rethinking. You can have some small and good as well.

Here's another vote for the return of the yeoman, they can change the name for branding purposes (we won't stop calling it yeoman, but it might sell better).
I also want the trail guide re-released.
I want to see if Victorinox can make a competitor to the LM squirt (plier version).
I also like the suggestion of the explorer with nail file instead of small blade.
How about a release of apprentice (waiter with phillips driver instead of corkscrew).

Sewing kit, i.e. a needle and some thread

Needle & thread, wrapped around some paper, easily fits under the openers:

Seriously? A factory clip for the Spirit. Why has this not been done after 12 years of production (going on 20 next year for the SwissTools)?  ???

It would be simple enough to design and produce a removable clip that mounts where the corkscrew attaches without compromising any tools. Come on people...

Time for a redesign of the pliers (again), this time including replacable cutter heads. The design is dated compared to the other makers. Really, this is doable!

Stop outsourcing for luggage and clothing and get back to what this company does best, producing quality tools. Also the focus is too intense on alox colors instead of function and utility where the real focus should be.

My 2 cents FWIW  :P

I don't see why they don't just re release some most sought after models.  I'd also like to see what is in my mind a very simple "new" tool, Deluxe Explorer (Explorer w/ pliers).  I don't get why they are so stubborn.  Add fricken scissor to the the tools they know we want them on.  Come on Vic.
