Coming back from a trip noticed so many tourists EDC a selfie stick, but none of them carry any MT or knives.
Yea, in case of emergency, they can suck on it. :whistle:

Well aren't selfie sticks MT's by definition.

Functions:
- Satisfy your narcissism
- Satisfy your voyeurism (Use it to take pictures from the other side of the wall)
- Scratch your back
- Marks the spot where a smurf stands
- Helps braking a bike (No joke, I went cycling in turkey and a Russian guy actually managed to block the front wheel with his selfie stick :rofl:)
- Improved grip for getting your mobile phone stolen

I discussed this with someone recently (A selfie-stick user)

It cancels the need to ask a stranger to take your picture, which can be awkward because all the young people have ear-plugs in and stare at their mobile phone and everybody else is OLD. Basically after the constant blaring of music into ones ear and the smartphone stare, this is the next step into sealing yourself into your own world without contact to anybody else.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

It is a good concept...but super expensive and thus will rarely see the light of day or night.

Gotta admit, I kinda thought this was going to be a destruction-type thread and we'd see pictures of selfie stick pieces after a losing battle...
