I think the troops are complaining that we're far too lenient Allan, time to start cracking the whip I reckon.
back on-topic (weird I know) but I just can't see why someone would do a knock-off micro-tool clip, it's not like the real one is a runaway fantastic design and super popular, is it?
The knock-off Micra I can well understand though, ripping off one of the most popular Leatherman product ever made makes sense.

WTF.
That's just ripping off the Leatherman name to sell a piece of crap.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Saw several of the "Expedition" models, which seem to be paying homage to various models by Opinel, SOG, LM etc.
I nearly bought a couple but the prices were stupid. The LM Juice lookalike shown here costs 42 Euros
... For that much you can get an LM Juice online..

Given some of the effort that seems to go into making some of these tools, you'd think that the manufacturers might go that little extra mile and try for something original.

Forgot all about this thing until I used it on a forest ride last weekend to fix a mate's dirtbike.
It lives in my Camelback and hasn't seen the light of day for a couple of years. I bought it from a local $2 shop because I wanted something to leave in there but didn't want to donate my Wave to the cause. That gets EDC'd in my bag.
His rear brake was bent under the crankcase and the back brake stuck on.
rock
I Grabbed the brake lever with the pliers and really swung on it. Surprisingly the tool didn't explode and we managed to get the lever bent (almost) straight.
one case where cheap didn't turn out to be cr@p.
I think it cost about 8 bux.

Some of these tools look like decent value for the money. I mean, I'd be a whole lot more upset if I lost my SwissTool on a road somewhere.

Hi
Sorry to drag up this old thread, but I just bought the Wave, black edition. It seems to me its suspiciously cheap. Could you look at the pictures and tell me if you notice something "wrong"?
http://game-on.no/products/leatherman-wave-sort
The price is 879 NOK, which is about 100 $ +. Everything in Norway is twice the price as everywhere else, so to me thats actually a very good price...
Are there newer and better copies out there now?

Not an expert, but it looks pretty legit to me.
110 is a fair price for anywhere in Europe.. maybe they forgot they're in Norway

Looks real to me. The knock off you are probably thinking is the Mamut, which is a not bad knock off of the first generation Wave. The biggest giveaway that you have a knockoff, no Leatherman branding on the tool, and you also get these nice thumb studs on the knife blades.
