Hmm....I would lean towards the KF4 myself, but I don't mind carrying a SAK and MT together.  Plus I'm partial to the KF4 as it was one of the retired LMs I really wanted.  It's actually very well equipped and is the most symmetrical Juice, which I like.  However, if you're not too keen on having to carry a SAK with the MT, then maybe the CS4 to avoid the heft of the XE6?

I'd personally go for the KF4. It suits a combo of tools, the implements work good and it's not a brick in the pocket

This is easy: keep the KF4! I used to own one years ago and actually liked it but decided to gift it off. It lacks the flimsy scissors everyone seems to have issue with and the tools it does have actually work :tu:

This is sounding very universal for the KF4. Even Sir Kirky Blamealot agrees

Definitely KF4. It pairs well with  a SAK, and has a great toolset on its own as well. The CS4 does not offer enough over a SAK to justify size or loss of utility from inferior tools.  The xe6 is so big you may as well carry a full sized multitool, and if you decide you miss it, you can go find a Juice Pro. Plus, cs4 and xe6 are still relatively easy to find, kf4, not so much.

Here's the score. I've had a change of circumstances lately, and as a result I need to get rid of most of my posessions, tools, furniture, everything. I need to do this to raise funds, but also to become more "portable". I have no idea where I'll be living a few weeks from now (ain't life just one big adventure) and I need to turn my worldly goods into funds, and get myself ready to be easily relocatable. The challenge I'm setting you guys, is to help me choose what to KEEP!

Sorry to hear this. I've been there. It's questionable whether I'm not still there. Anyway, what to keep? Keep your chin up. That's the most important thing. Think positively and do the best you can and we are all hoping it works out for the best.

The picture is becoming a lot clearer for me on certain "groups" of tools now. The SAK mods have helped immensely. The Mega84 has proved itself well, as has Brian. These will let me part with all my Travellers with the exception of one, and I'm 80% sure which one that is.

The upcoming Mega91 which at this stage looks like being a CT41 with serrated and pruner blades, frees me up to let go of my other Original Outdoorsman, and the likelyhood of me making a CyberTrailguide from my CT34 is looking less likely. A Compact in a FAK, and a Yellow Climber should cover most other eventualities. Several others are now being freed up as "surplus to requirements"

The Alox Rambler will be my only alox kept, and most of the other 58s and 65s will stay too. I'm struggling to see justification for keeping any large framed SAKs whatsoever. Its not that they're bad tools, far from it, I'm just not seeing what they offer that other tools/combos dont.

The only SAK aspect not fully addressed is that of formal carry. If I don a dinner suit, what should find it's way into my pocket? Having sold my Director, the best options would probably be:

Alox Rambler
Deluxe Cigar Cutter
Brushed Stainless Traveller
Wenger Metal 50
Horn Scaled Huntsman

Or

Ditch the SAK and go with a Micra or a Minibuck 350

Small framed (keyring size) and large framed (4.1/2"+) are now clear too. At the smaller end, I want the Gerber Dime/s and my Style PS. The Minitool is proving hard to part with, but rarely gets carried. Really struggling to come to a decision on that one.

Large framed is looking like a revitalised DEsTroyer mod accompanied by the Schrade LC6 Vise Grips and S60 Powerlock in the main toolbag with all the dedicated tools. The main tools on there three add a lot of punch with the heavy shears, large capacity locking pliers, and the compound leverage and wire cutting abilities. Note, not being retained as EDC type items, but multipurpose items to compliment the main tool bags contents. Besides, they might save me a few trips up and down a ladder one day.

The only other large framed tool to stay at this point is the TurboDiesel mod. That will be stopping in the grab bag for those times when you don't need the full main toolbag, just something with a little more punch than your EDC. The Mega91 will be the TurboDiesel's sidekick.

Only other Large framed tool to consider, is the incoming MP600 Pro Scout. This will either be broken for parts to upgrade the MP426, of be converted to knifeless to replace the MP426. Only time will tell on that

The biggest headache by far is the mid sized tools. These are where multitools really shine for me. I know some people really get off on the weighty items such as the Surge, but for me it's all about pocket carry.

So many tools, so much potential. Each offering something unique that gives it an advantage over something else. So far I think I can let the PSTs go, but only because they can't win pocket time off the Sideclips. The Spirit X could go only because it lets the RT (the X in a tux) come out of the cupboard and get some carry time. One of the Juices can stay at the cost of the others too.

Unfortunately that still leaves a great many tools with lots of potential

MP426 mod complete with diamond file, awl and corkscrew

BG Strata - ideal for leaving in the glovebox of the car

Switchplier with bitset, paired with a Rodgers Camper in the seat bag of the bike

Fuse-ilier mod with assorted orange accompaniments in the hiking bag

Balance, probably the only tool in this category I'd carry alone without and accompanying knife or SAK

Sideclip, perfect accompanyment for a SAK for urban use

MP700, and old favourite which is still as good now as it ever was

Juice KF4 (probably), an excellent choice for edging out the Sideclip aand pairing with a Climber when a bit more punch is required

Spirit RT, an astounding multitool with masses of potential when outside urban use

Modded Wave or Charge AL. Superb in workshop environments.

Irongrip Blunt Nosed. Never needed to carry this SAK on steroids, but FIXED pliers and a 1/4" bit set in an already capable and durable SAK format. (needs pairing with scissors - possibly a Micra)

This is by far the toughest part of the thinning out process

As far as dinner suits go, my suggestion is go with the horn scaled Huntsman, a bolo tie and a big clip point fixed blade. That ought to make everything right
