I cut into a live power cord one time with an old Tinker. One of my colleagues saw that and said: "Looks like you did a little 'amateur welding' with that one... nice job!"

Here it is:


That burned-out notch in the blade made and excellent wire stripping notch. Nevertheless, it shamed me so much every time I opened it, I eventually gave it to a friend. (former coworker, who knew the story) He still carries it sometimes, and probably tells the story about his dumbass friend.  ::)

What was the voltage/amps?

Not completely sure. The cord was plugged into a 240 V, 20 A circuit with only an old circuit breaker protecting it. I'd guess maybe 30 A for 1/4 second. It didn't even trip the breaker.
