Bahco is a good choice mate.

That's what I thought, rather than get a cheapie for half the price. I wish I had chosen a straighter one though; this one the head is at a very slight angle to the handle. That kinda thing bugs me!
Could do with a sharpen too...

Those have a good reputation, 

After using it for an hour you won’t even notice the angle, your body will get used to it....
then you will be reaching for the sandpaper to clean off the handle

Yeah, one of my favourite hatchets (and most used) has a slight angle on the head.  Never made the slightest bit of difference as far as I can tell.

I would be very cautious about the Bahco hatchets.I watched a number of youtube videos that deterred me from buying their product.

With all of the bad reviews last year Bahco may have made some improvements.They did contact Wranglerstar about the failure if his Bahco hatchet but I'm not sure about the outcome of that contact.

According to one of the videos,after Bahco discovered there was a problem with their hatchet,they contacted the owner immediately.

They do appear to be willing to make right any fault in their products.

A company that stands by their product and provides superior customer service,is one of the reasons that I continue to purchase Surefire lights.

I watched the wranglerstar video on the bahco hatchet a week or two ago. Didn't he say as he was sharpening the thing about edge rolling and if it did he'd go back and put a sturdier edge on it? Then it rolled and he bitched about it. Don't quote me on it, though

Here's a pic of my Estwing hatchet. I've had it around 11 or 12 years. It's seen fair amount of use in that time. A Council Tool Hunters Axe when it was new. It dont look like that now.

I've had this Estwing hatchet for many years.  The leather handle transfers most of the shock of impact to my hand, wrist, and arm.

If I were to purchase another hatchet, the handle would have energy absorbing rubber type material instead of the leather.
