Considering a new minimalist combination.

Im thinking of teaming up a Spirit and an Alox Bantam. Lots of capability in a small package. Plus the Bantam is a nice dress /light clothing EDC. What say you soothsayers ?

I think that is a great combo. Probably one of the best. I am thinking of the same, but with a Cadet possibly...

Better than what 99% of what people carry...which is nothing!

A Spirit alone is a pretty well rounded tool IMO.

+! on that combo. The Cadet is still light weight but it has both the opening tools. I find the Bantam too thin for my hands. I usually use the Bantam when I am running the bar at a party. It is great for slicing fruit for drinks and opening bottles. Don't talk about corkscrews. I have half a dozen corkscrews at home, all better than the Vic one.

The Bantam and Spirit sounds like a great combo!

I think a Spirit S and a Compact would be a great minimalist EDC too.  It's not quite as minimalist, but you get the better scissors (IMO), plenty of sharp blades, and the small tools like toothpick, tweezers and mini screwdriver.

I am with Terry on this one. Cellidor  and scale tools make a lot of sense. The Spirit and Compact is my combination too.

If we are discussing Cellidor, but you want slimness, you could swop the Bantam for a Waiter plus and get almost the same functionality with the scale tools that is if you don't mind the Spirit scissors. The Waiter plus is also a good companion for alox knives.

Duckman , I have the LED lite base well covered . I'm a bit of a flashaholic. I generally pack a Surefire E1L or L1 and a Streamlite Microstream as a backup.
