a crappy china made multi-tool (which will be replaced by either a swisstool BO, swisstool spirit BO, SOG powerplier BO)...

Hello good eveing and welcome :)

If you don't mind something non-BO you might want to check out the Paladin tools.  They are basically SOGs tweaked for comms  work.

...and lastly a pair of hemostats (great full helpping remove small items and torn off paper inside a jammed printer.

And I thought I was the only one (other than joint smoking hesher and hippie types) that carried one of these. Really good ones are just the thing for all manner of small work, from holding a tiny screw, to tying or untying knots, to retrieving or removing small items from tight spots, to (heaven forbid) use as a needle driver for emergency stitches.

I have so little fine motor control with my left thumb.. you never realize how important that is for holding onto to fiddly bits of whatever until you lose it. I can bend the joint only about 40% of the way, and the grip is weaker than it used to be. Hemostats really are a godsend.

Well, hemostats and my 5" Vice Grip pliers.

Welcome!

That's all good.

We can only take so much of Micky D & LM123 before we desperately need new material to read.

I think the spidie there has distinct lines. Unlike most that just melt all together. It flows nicely.

my edc´s...

nowadays im carryin tracker everyday basis.usually with Vic from mike..i dont recall the model..tradesman maybe,or oh trekker.not so often any multitools anymore, but if i pack up multi, its core or surge as always.

i have edc too in my schools "hostel" or what you call em...dorm?

there i have m95 and sog powerlock usually.just in case i forget to grab any gear from home on my way to school.

but but,i have really fallen into relationship with oh trekker,i bought it used,it has pocket clip in it,its cool i admit, makes finding it much easier.i only had to unscrew it an attach again with some good glue to prevent it from dropping from scales.its been modified by someone, cause it dont have serration anymore.and i ground up u sharp u-groove into flat screwdriver,to use the groove as fire steel scraper too.if nothn,if in not carryin anythin in my pockets, this tool is there for sure.

They're deffantly an acquired taste though.  I appreciate the ergonomics of them but I would struggle to call many of them good looking.

I agree a SAK would work (but then I would wouldn't I  ::) ) but I'm not sure a Swisschamp is the one.  Huntsman would cover all the basics without doubling up on anything the Crunch carries.

I was thinking Swisschamp because of the plier options.

Hummm   I'm not such a huge fan of the pliers if I'm honest but if Poncho likes them lets split the difference and go with a Handyman (Swisschamp less Phillips and mag).  You still get a lot of redundancy though.

I'd still go with the swisschamp for the mag.  :D

I really like the SAK pliers.  They may be handy to pair with the Crunch as the Crunch could be a pain to use in a small area.

Apart from the file I see very little redundancy actually, and even the file may give you different grade options.  You would have a few flat heads I admit, but I expect you'd have a few different sizes available.

Well, I've been EDCing a Juice S2 this week as an experiment. Bit more legal than the TTi.

It's sufficient, but not the same. Might have to revert back to my more rebellious stance, screw "the man" and take my chances. Still deciding.
I used to come here a lot.
