EDCGear

Does anyone have any knowledge or experiences to share regarding EDCGear? They seem to run higher in price than the pure unbranded Chinese knockoff tools you find on ebay and the like. Are they at least marginally better quality? How many of their products are original and not clones of branded tools? Which ones are worth buying?

From my experience...they tend to be rather quick in stealing fund starter ideas. Quality isn't all that great either. I don't think they have an original idea either.

This is a long read, but if you go through it, you will get a sense of what I am saying.

That is a great thread. Thanks, Chako  :tu:

I also learned the originator of that seahorse-like tool, which I probably failed to track down because its actual name is bizarre. Looks like I might be buying a set of the Nextool OPMTs now that I've seen them. I like those designs.

Hm... I guess they are fine if you want something useful and not pay an arm an a leg (even if slightly "borrowed" in design).

I got my EDCGear Titanium Comb for 7 USD which is a copy of the 65 USD Chicago Titanium Comb.

I doubt that a Chicago would comb my hair 10 times better to justify the price.

That being said quality is decent, no burred edges, no uneven sides. If you don;t mind owning a knock-off, EDCGear are quite fine and dareIsay a small step above most Chinese OPT makers (but one step behind SRM or even Tiremet.)
