Victorinox TimeKeeper for sale
on: October 31, 2015, 06:06:23 PM
My first post, so it will be flawed. However, I have a red Victorinox TimeKeeper with the roman numeral clock for sale. The clock works, and the knife looks very good, with only real wear being small scratches on the plastic handles expected from regular pocket wear. No rust or heavy grime on blades or tools.

Blade marking is "Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei" and "Officier Suisse" on the reverse.

Does this have much value? I am thinking to sell here or eBay it.

thanks

The ones with the Roman digits were the first production of these knives then the digits were changed to numeric and used to sell for about $40+ before they were discontinue several years ago. Just go ahead and listed on eBay starting with a low opening price and let bidders judge for them self, I'm sure you will get what it's worth it.

Thanks. Context is everything. Here is my story:

I have always been a "closet Victorinox Guy" because I carry a small one on every keychain I own. ( about five of them) plus carry a belt mounted 3-1/2" or 4" one when not in the office. (They seem to frown on knives at work).

About ten or fifteen years ago, I got one of them confiscated when the flying rules changed, and got irritated. Then I flew again and lost another. At that point I researched what they were doing with them and found out the state of Oregon (because I flew out of Portland Airport) sold them at auction, by lots. Seemed simple and bid on a couple of lots and was...successful beyond my intent. I didn't understand the bidding process and ended up with 71 knives for $40, of which about half were cheap Chinese but I had nearly thirty Victorinox knives. Over the years I have outfitted my brothers and sisters and their kids with many knives, and lost a few more. I am down to the last eight or so, and they are larger knives (3/5 inches or more) that are all different. I am trying to find out about them for curiosity, but the TimeKeeper was something that someone else might like - I use my knives hard and it seemed a pity to mess it up.

THAT is my story. I have a long and tender relationship with these knives, and just like 'em - like my John Deere tractor, they are mighty fine.
