Nice mod Pete! :tu: It is always useful to have a pair of scissors no matter what the situation.

:like: the Wave scissors personally and it keeps it with a more factory look but I know SAK scissors are hard to beat :tu: Love the mod

Does anyone get discoloration on their diamond sharpener? It's doing it from constant contact with my fingers when gripping the tool to cut stuff. Discoloring is similar to what it does to the diamond file on my Waves.

G'Day,

Mine is still same colour as when I got it. It did not even change colour when I chucked it in some black RIT dye. I use mine daily too for cutting lunch stuff.

Cheers,

Pete

Same here.  I was surprised that the dye had no effect on mine.

How does the Signal Compare to the MUT and the Skeletool.

I own both but not a Signal.

It's pretty much right in between  I think.  It can be seen as a beefier Skeletool, or a scaled down MUT.

G'Day,

Monrogue is spot on.

I own the MUT and Signal, and the Signal is smaller and lighter than the MUT. I don't have the Skele so cannot comment on the comparison to it. The Signal is more EDC friendly, I think, than the MUT, due to being smaller and lighter. You also get a few more tools on the Signal. The MUT is a fantastic tool, but is is very military focused. I prefer the MUT blade though, the Signal one has some very aggressive serrations. A Wave or Charge PE blade will be a better blade in it I think.

You can read my thoughts on the tool here: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,69091.0.html

Cheers,

Pete

You are welcome. If you can find it for a very good deal, I'm sure you will not be disapointed.  :pok:

Yes the comparison pics were great for me as well

Question, I know it has been talked about but would a PE Wave blade work in the Signal

I am certainly going to fit a Wave PE blade. As much as I like the Signal blade, a PE blade is much better for my needs. Mine should be here before the week is gone, I hope...

S30v

Is the S30V a better choice than the 154CM?

Cheers,

Pete

Interesting, I only have 154CM blades hence the question. The differences will also impact the edge retention I would imagine.

Cheers,

Pete

I got in and out of this club within a week  :salute: I bought a used Signal, just to check it out. I liked its weight, frame, and somewhat minimalist approach. What I did not like were the removable plastic parts. Clumsy and not intuitive to use. It was changed hand late last week. So I am Signal-less again  :P

The little plastic bits are the only things on the Signal I have not used. The file did a nail a while ago, but that is about it. I would love to have a plastic bit container that fits in where the ferro rod is. Maybe carry an additional two bits. And since it is removable a plastic mould can possibly be made... I am going to check on this with the ferro rod out.

Pete

PS
Well I had a quick look at the whistle. One bit will most definitely fit, but the whistle will no longer work. One will also have to make a sort of retaining mechanism to keep the extra bit inside. I don't think that two bits will fit though. There may be space for two standard hex bits. I will have a play over the next few days and see what I can come up with.

I think that with the bit is a better use than the whistle anyways :tu: :like:
