I still want to get a few examples of English made slipjoints...haven't pulled the trigger on those yet.

Benner,

I can't see any F&F issues in the pics you posted, no blade play and clean gap-free backspring fit says it's built like it should be. Excellent. Quality slipjoints are wonderful knives.  :tu:

All I can add is be sure to keep the blades cleaned and oiled as your knife is most likely done in Carbon Steel. Not much comes from Friedrich Olbertz in stainless.

I think I'm after a two-bladed Jack with a spearpoint main...carbon steel.

There are a couple US sources I know of, but the selection is not great...

I don't think I've shown this knife, one of my favorites...German made, marked "Contento"

Probably not an expensive knife to begin with...just a utilitarian carbon steel working folder.

Nice grabs SporK......I look forward to hearing what you think of them when you get them in your hands. It was a few Trevor-Ablett pieces I had seen before that kinda got me looking into getting some.

Oh, we need plenty of eye-candy of them as well!  :pok:

Ok guys, some more eye-candy for your viewing pleasure. This one arrived on my doorstep several hours ago. And typical of what I have come to expect from Queen Cutlery.....Fit and Finish that is flawless!

Queen Cutlery Cattle King Stockman, my favored Stockman variation......4 1/4" closed with squared bolsters!

Blades are made of D2 Tool Steel and nicely polished, bolsters are nickel/silver, and liners and pins are of brass. Scales are ACSB (Amber Carved Stag Bone), and they are much more vibrant than my pictures show.

Fit and finish is perfect, blade grinds are spot on, edges are sharp and clean, not a gap to be found anywhere, zero blade play throughout, backsprings are stout and remain flush with the blades opened or closed, and blade etchings and tang stamps are without fault.......

My kind of slippies!  :tu:

And it goes well with it's brother which I have had for a little while..........

Queen ACSB Gunstock:
