This time he goes out with a fan. I caught the new episode half way through so I am going to record the later playing and watch it later. I will let you guys know what I think.

I was just going to post about this.  I am a huge Les Stroud fan and thought the show was ok.  I'm sure it will gain momentum as it progresses.  He's such a stud it's ridiculous.

I could not get anything useful out of that link, just a bad picture and the headline. (Im probably in the wrong country)

Not really sure what direction the show will go  :think:.  The fan thing was alright.   I'd like to see "what-if'" type scenarios, simple load out survival ( maybe hiker brought only space blanket/knife/ferro rod), tips and techniques he's learned, wild edibles, camp security ( predators ), etc.  I know he as well as every other outdoorsman has done similar but for me its still worthwhile.

The fan episode sucked to be honest. Les just needs to go back to his roots and do what he started with. Simple survival show with only him. No bigfoot hunting. No fans. Don't bring your son.

I might be getting the survivalist mixed up, but I think it was Les that said his body had taken a knock with these adventures and he needs to slow down.....?

I don't much care for the new stuff even though I'll watch, but I can and do watch the old stuff again.

Yeah that's him, I can only imagine doing that sort of thing 6 or 7 times per season.

I'm a bit perplexed by the choice of the fan though, if the guy is that big of a fan to make a video and wants to be on the show, how could he not pick up those simple things from just watching the previous episodes of the show?

I was also a bit  :think:

I tripped out when he was trying to strike a ferro rod with a rock  :twak:.

He did seem to bring a lot of gear tho.  I wonder how much of that gear had actually been used however.  I still am amazed to see guys with pristine gear all packed away for JIC scenarios.   Please try all gear you intend to trust your life with.

Episode 2 was much better. No fan with him. More like a original Survivorman episode.

Funny thing is he is not using his branded gear. Seems to be using a Helle fixed blade again.
