Odd Multi by Smith and Wesson
on: November 09, 2015, 09:27:51 PM
I just picked this up at a local large outdoors shop (I am not sure if I can mention it here!  :-\ ). It is an interesting tool, a seemingly well made tool for the price ($29.99) and has one odd feature that could be a defect! First , the good:

1. Rubberized handles give it a good grip.
2. The pliers slide into the tool, somewhat like some of the Gerbers
3. Knife and saw were pretty sharp out of the box. Scissors and other major tools are a bit larger than most multis this size.
4. The screw driver uses standard 1/8 inch bits, so you can use others that you may have with other tools sets.
5. The tool came well lubed, which I do not see very often on budget tools.
6. Came with a nice sheath
The bad:

1. Tools do not lock. Not too surprising at this price point.
2. Look at the photo of the tool with the pliers closed and look at the handles. Every multitool I own like this with pliers will            have a gap in between the handles when the tool is closed like that. In other words, you can not squeeze on the handles too hard to get a better grip with the pliers.  ???

What do you all think? Have any of you seen or used this model?

Looks like that is how they designed that one.

It's really a bummer that the handles close down all the way, because, otherwise it seems like a good budget tool.

Also, that button location is unfortunate
