I don't have a clue what's going on with that daggone thing. Maybe the flint doesn't throw hot enough sparks is what I'm thinking . Tip it upside down to let the wick soak fluid? Got a pic handy?

Tip it upside down to let the wick soak fluid? Got a pic handy? I'm about to head off to class, but after I can. Honestly it all looks pretty normal the only thing is the wick is frayed but I don't know if that'll stop it lighting.
Imagine it, I'm terribly lost in the woods, sun dropping along with the temperature. I have stumbled onto a perfectly built fire with seasoned split logs stacked next to it and tinder alllll over. I luckily have my peanut lighter, completely filled, so I'll be good and warm that night right?..... Indeed, but only because the anger and rage inside will keep me nice and warm I cannot for the life of me get this foolish thing to light, it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't like it so much. It's such a convenient thing to have, but it wont do me any good! Sparking up a storm, but it just wont light and it drives me insane. Am I alone with this problem?
Are you sure you have a flint in there. Or are you just running the wheel over the plunger?

Or are you just running the wheel over the plunger?... and this. If you can light it with anoher lighter, the problem is not the wick. Replace the flint with a Zippo one or, better (cheaper) yet, with a flint from an old Bic lighter. Check for size, first, before buying. They can be too large for your lighter.
