Renewing a cross

No,I've not taken up a new faith
I've had an Elinox Spartan arrive this morning, and it's currently in its de-gunking bath. The paint on the hot stamp cross has completely worn off.
I'm wondering if there's a viable way to paint it make in?
I can't see any modellers paints doing the job,as the cellador is too smooth to get a grip on.
Any ideas?

Scratch with a pin and then use model paint?

...and then a couple of coats of varnish to seal it in? Good thinking Al

Use epoxy paint. Commonly used on household appliances. It takes longer to dry but well worth it.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Epoxy paint will stick to just about anything, and is pretty damn tough.
