Hello from Downunder
on:
December 13, 2015, 10:59:52 PM
Hi All,
Just joined, I am retired and collect the small pocket knives issued to, and used by Soldiers.
My aim is to have examples of most varieties, working on replicas of those from historical times. (pre 1788)

Welcome aboard
Those really old soldier knives sound interesting

Thanks for the welcome, at present my first two 'historical soldiers knives' are in varying stages of completion.
I hope to finish the first one in the next month or so and will post a few photos then. Most of my effort to date has been on research - love the internet for that!

welcome mate
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible
"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Welcome from Sydney
We are pretty obsessed with the Swiss variety of Soldier Knives here - So it will be VG to see some other types...

Down under what?
You're not Tasmanian are you?
Welcome bloke,
There's a lot of folks who love the vintage stuff, perhaps you can get a few good contacts in Europe from here, might make it a bit easier to find those rare ones that have never seen our blessed red soil.
